You never know what you’re going to get from Jameis Winston any time he opens his mouth. The NFL veteran is one of the great characters in all of sports, and ahead of his first start under center for the New York Giants on Sunday, he delivered the goods yet again.
Speaking ahead of the Giants’ matchup against the Tennessee Titans at a wet and sloppy MetLife Stadium, Winston was asked how his confidence was ahead of his 90th career start in the NFL.
In typical Winston fashion, he put his philosopher’s hat on and delivered a quote, although it certainly seemed like he butchered it a bit.

“One thing that I do is forgetting those that is behind and reaching forward to what’s ahead,” Winston said before awkwardly looking around the stadium.
“I’m so grateful that we get to focus on winning one play at a time. The circumstances, conditions, and facts, they don’t matter. It’s us, doing, being doers, not speakers,” he continued.

So, to recap, you must look forward, facts don’t matter, and one must be a doer and not a speaker. If that doesn’t get the juices flowing, I’m not sure if anything will.
The entire world has known it since his playing days at Florida State, but Winston’s future in broadcasting is as bright as they come. We’ve gotten a few sneak peeks of it in recent years, most recently during the 2026 World Cup, and he was a natural in front of the mic.

As for the football being played on Sunday, Winston is taking over for the Giants after starting quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a left-knee injury during New York’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2. Dart is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Winston played in three games for the Giants a year ago, all three of which New York lost.
