The New York Giants’ 12-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday was as ugly as it could get but a win is a win and Big Blue needs a whole lot of them to somehow make the playoffs.
Jameis Winston survived the cold and rain conditions up at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He completed 14 of his 22 pass attempts for 118 yards and was sacked three times. But he and the defense did enough to get Dominic Zvada in position for chip-shot field goals.

The Giants needed that and a heads-up interception from Jevon Holland to seal the victory.
The veteran quarterback dedicated the win to injured second-year star Jaxson Dart in the most Jameis Winston way ever.

“So, we found a way to will to get this. Then (Brian Burns) went down. So, we had to find a way to be our brother’s keeper. But we never lost faith. We kept going. And our objective was to be 1-0. One play at a time.”
Hope is a dangerous drug for any fan base. But for Giants fans, they saw all of their postseason wants and wishes go out the window seven snaps into last Monday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams when Dart when down with a regular-season-ending knee injury.
Hope is definitely dangling on a string. The team looked lost last week after Dart’s injury. But bouncing back in the cold against a team they should have beaten regardless, is what will boost confidence for the next few weeks.
Winston wasn’t good by any stretch of the imagination. The team will continue to rely on players like Cam Skattebo, the defense and special teams to account for where the offense lacks.
