Professional eater inhales a burrito to reclaim a title she had lost as world’s fastest

Leah Shutkever has done it. The influencer/professional eater has set the world record for fastest time to eat a burrito for the third time to reclaim a title she had lost to speed eater Miki Sudo in 2022.
According to the Guinness World Records, she has 42 records to her name. Quite an accomplishment for someone who got into it by accident.
“My origin story of breaking Guinness World Records titles is one that I’ll never get bored of,” Shutkever told Guinness World Records.
LAS VEGAS FOODIE EARNS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD AFTER EATING AT 28 TOP RESTAURANTS IN 24-HOUR SPRINT
“I had newly started up a YouTube channel doing food challenges, and I found an official record of fastest time to eat a Chocolate Orange, and I had a go, filmed it for YouTube, posted it, and thought nothing else of it.”
She was then contacted by a TV show to make her attempt official, which she did. She’s been hooked ever since she broke that record.
Shutkever first set the fastest time to eat a 1.35 pound burrito in 2019. She broke her own record with a time of 32.35 seconds in 2022, months before Sudo took it down.
In August, at the Guinness World Records HQ in London, she took back her title by inhaling a burrito in 30.75 seconds. An impressive feat that easily beat Sudo’s time of 31.47.
What a performance by Shutkever. She left it all out there. Everything, but a single morsel of the burrito. That’s how you take down one of 42 world records.
JOEY CHESTNUT REVEALS FOODS HE WON’T EAT IN COMPETITION AS HE TOURS MINOR LEAGUE STADIUMS FOR LOCAL DELICACIES
“I’ve been very fortunate in my career that many opportunities have landed on my desk, and I’ve been the right person with the right appetite to say yes to them,” she said.
“Competitiveness definitely plays into the ability to attempt and break a world record. I think personally, I am silly, bold, and brazen enough to put myself in the firing line for all sorts of things.”

That’s how you humbly deliver a victory speech.
The ball is now in Miki Sudo’s court or any other speed eater who thinks they have what it takes to barely chew a burrito and put it away in less than 30.75 seconds.
