Home health care left behind with COVID-19 vaccinations

Naples, Florida, 12th March 2021, ZEXPRWIRE – The COVID-19 vaccination is making its way around the country.  The ones currently receiving the vaccination are classified as 1A priority.  These represent people in the health care industry, those who are at a high risk of exposure, and public service employees.

Most states are still in phase 1A, and there is yet to be a timeline for the remainder of the country to receive the vaccination.  Sadly, there is one element of the healthcare industry that has been sadly overlooked.

While there is a significant percentage of people who require long term hospitalization and care, the home health care industry serves an equally large population.  Many of those in home health care are ill, immuno-compromised and at risk for the virus.  However, no effort has been made to include these seniors and other citizens on any receipent list for the vaccinations.

Brightstar Care of Naples, Fla., is on the forefront of the fight for those in home care.  Its staff and seniors in care have no idea when their opportunity for the vaccination will be, and they are rightly concerned.

The agency makes sure to follow all protocols and care to the highest possible standard, including as much social distancing and PPE as practical.  However, there is only so much that can be done when direct home healthcare is necessary.

Brightstar Care remains committed to its staff and patients during this time with the full intention to continue to do so.
